'us', 'we' or 'our' is a reference to the partnership between Melbourne Fringe and State Library Victoria.
‘you’ or ‘your’ refers to the person using this website or completing the submission form
This website refers to any use of storybank.melbournefringe.com.au
Website exhibition refers to the online version of the exhibition, which may begin from early 2022 and last as long as we see fit.
Public exhibition refers to the in-person outcome of this project that may take place at State Library Victoria in 2022 and may last as long as we see fit.
Submission form refers to the form on this website that allows you to submit your story as audio, video or in writing and answer the various other required questions.
Story submission refers to completion of all aspects of the submission form

Story submission use

Your story submission and any other information provided may be published on this website, the Melbourne Fringe website, the State Library Victoria website, the Melbourne Fringe and/or State Library Victoria social media and other communications channels, in the public exhibition and/or in other future exhibition, collection or archives by Melbourne Fringe and/or State Library Victoria. We may use your story submission in full or edit it as we see fit. Completing the submission form means you have consented to all uses listed above, and we do not need to seek further permission or give notice when your story submission is used.

We will never publish your contact details if provided and will only use these to contact you about your story submission if necessary. We will only publish your name if you give express consent in the submission form.

We reserve the right not to publish or use any story submission without reason or notice.

Community guidelines

Participation in Melbourne Fringe’s programs is guided by two key principles: Freedom of Expression and Ensuring Community Safety.

In your story submission, you agree not to:

• include content that is defamatory or that incites hatred or violence towards an individual person or group of peoples.
• engage in any form of speech (written, spoken or otherwise) that incites hatred or violence towards an individual person or group of peoples.
• use derogatory, offensive or racist language
• attach explicit images
• post or link to content which infringes the intellectual property rights (including copyright) of third parties
• upload links to malicious software or websites.

All story submissions must be given an accurate age rating and appropriate trigger warnings.
